A couple of weeks ago, we stumbled upon a great — French — infographic by francetvinfo, titled (translation) If France were a village of 100 people

… this inspired us and we thought it would be interesting to look at Facebook’s global audience in the same way.

Using Facebook Insights, we came up with the following infographic, titled If Facebook were a village of 100 people:

Here is a quick transcription of our findings:

  • Gender: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 56 would be men and 44 would be women.
  • Age: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 64 would be 18-34 years old and 3% would be 65+ years old.
  • Relationship Status: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 39 would be single and 39 would be married.
  • Country: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 13 would be American, 9 would be Indian and 7 would be Brazilian.
  • City: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 5 would come from Bangkok.
  • Language: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 43 would speak English and 10 would speak Spanish.
  • Education Level: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 69 would hold a college degree.
  • Job: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 36 would occupy a management position.
  • Device: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 84 would primarily mobile users.
  • OS: if Facebook were a village of 100 people, 48 would use Android and 16 would use iOS.
