You can track your post performances for all six social media platforms we currently support, month by month, with the following metrics:

  • Facebook: reactions, comments & shares.
  • Twitter: likes & retweets.
  • Instagram: likes & comments.
  • Pinterest: likes, comments & saves.
  • Google+: “+1″s, comments & shares.
  • LinkedIn: likes & comments.

Analytics will be collected automatically for all platforms except for Instagram, which requires that you paste the URL of your posts to link them to Loomly, as follows:

As always, this new feature comes at no additional cost: whether you are enjoying your 15-day free trial, or are already a Loomly subscriber, you don’t need to pay a dime more to access your post analytics.

And, as always, we want to thank you dearly for your support, your kind words and your enthusiasm: it’s a pleasure and an honor to build Loomly for you.

The Loomly Team.

*As mentioned at the top of this announcement, we are humbly announcing the first version of Loomly Analytics.

“Humbly” because we are not pretending to change the game in terms of social media analytics: helping you track your post performances is the obvious next step in the social media content creation process Loomly was designed for — and we want to help you do just that, as simply as possible.

“First version” because we have a lot in store for you to make this new feature better, and as usual, we can’t wait to learn from your amazingly constructive feedback and shape this part of Loomly accordingly.

In particular, we would love to know:

  • Which additional metrics are you interested in tracking?
  • How would you like to filter your data?
  • Do you have any preference when it comes to graphs and data visualization?
  • How do you want to export your post analytics?
  • Is there another place / view in Loomly where you would like to see your post metrics displayed?

If you have an answer to one or more of the above questions, feel free to reach out to us, either through our contact page or directly at contact@loomly.com.

Get Free Wifi With Instabridge

#Tip — Get Free Wifi With Instabridge

If your Maslow’s hierarchy of needs looks anything like the one below, then free wifi is literally your basic need:

2017 Maslow's Hierarchy of needs

And we’ve got just the perfect tool for you!

Instabridge is a crowdsourced wifi network that lets you connect to free wifi spots around the world from your phone.

Just download the app (here for iOS and there for Android), let it locate you and instantly know where the closest wifi spots are around you: you will even get Google Maps instructions to walk / drive there.

You can also find wifi spots from your laptop with the web version of the app, assuming you already have some kind of Internet access.

Last but not least, you can contribute to Instabridge by safely sharing wifi network credentials: whether you want to make your home wifi available to the community, or just know of a free spot around the corner, you can add wifi spots to the app without actually giving away any password (Instabridge working as a proxy for it).

What’s in it for Social Media Managers: if you work remotely, as a nomad, or just like changing scenery while on the job, then you already know why getting free wifi is priceless!

Publish Panoramas To Instagram The Right Way With Panora

#Tool — Publish Panoramas To Instagram The Right Way With Panora

Have you ever tried to publish panoramas to Instagram?

If you have, you know how daunting the task is, as you need to slice your panoramic photo into three sub-images to make it look cool as a tryptic.

Best case scenario: you are a mobile cropping champion and can do it from your phone.

Worst case scenario: you need to send your panorama to your computer, edit it with Photoshop (or a similar software) and send it back to your phone for publishing.

Not anymore: now, Panora lets you publish panoramas to Instagram in a couple of super easy steps.

Just select a pano on your phone, let Panora slice it for you, make adjustments and post your slices!

Your panorama will get published as a combination of a 3-photo slideshow or as three sequential photos:

Panora is available for free for iOS (including in-app purchases) and a good Android equivalent would be Pannify.

Apply To Test The Brand-New Snapchat Self-Serve Ad Manager

#Tip — Apply To Test The Brand-New Snapchat Self-Serve Ad Manager

Snap, Inc just announced the launch of its brand-new Snapchat Self-Serve Ad Manager.

This is big news since, until today, you could only buy Snapchat ads through their sales team (reserving this ad product to enterprise customers) or via third-party applications (coming with a fee and making  ads less attractive from a financial point of view).

Snapchat Self-Serve Ad Manager

This new, official Snapchat Self-Serve Ad Manager is free, charges no markup and includes three main products:

  • An Ad Manager to, well, manage your ads (buy, run, analyze, optimize).
  • A Mobile Dashboard to preview how ads will look like inside the consumer Snapchat app.
  • A Business Manager to assign roles and permissions to team members.

You can learn more about the all-new Snapchat Self-Serve Ad Manager in this comprehensive TechCrunch article by Josh Constine.

Most importantly, until this Ad Manager rolls out to all users in June — in particular in the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Germany & Australia — you can apply to test it from here!

Take Another Look At Social Media Usage Evolution

#LongReads — Take Another Look At Social Media Usage Evolution

As Social Media Managers & Professionals, we have all been observing social media evolution in over the past decade: in parallel, it’s also interesting to take a look at social media usage evolution.

This week in our Long Reads section, we are featuring three articles about what new behaviors, challenges and regulations our favorite platforms induce:

  • On AdWeek, ShareThis CEO Kurt Abrahamson explains why and how social media are (becoming) the new TV.
  • In this Slate piece, Ilana Ullman argues in favor of clearer social media terms of services.
  • In the Europe section of their print edition from March 4, The Economist‘s team presented a contrasting view on why Europeans seem to be less eager consumers of online ranting than Americans.

Bonus: still in The Economist, we stumbled upon this fantastic article where Harvard University Law Professor & Barack Obama’s former regulation tsar Cass Sunstein teaches us why social media should encourage serendipity — chance encounters — rather than customized experiences (and the resulting filter bubbles). This is most probably the smartest thing we’ve read on this topic so far.

Find (More) Interesting Content & People With Google+ Topics

#New — Find (More) Interesting Content & People With Google+ Topics

It looks like trending topics are a huge trend among social platforms: Facebook & Twitter have been having their own Trends for a while, LinkedIn recently joined the game with LinkedIn Trending Storylines, and now Google+ is launching Topics.

According to Anna Kiyantseva, Product

To help you sort through the many Collections and Communities where people share, we’ve created a new feature called Topics. With Topics, you’ll see a high-quality stream of Collections, Communities and people related to things we think you’ll be interested in. […] To see the recommended Topics, head to your home stream and look for the “Topics to explore” cards. Topics will be rolling out over the next day or so, so don’t worry if you don’t see any suggestions right away.

What’s in it for Social Media Managers: Google+ Topics is both a source of inspiration / curation for your social channels, and an opportunity to connect with people sharing some of your interests.

At Loomly, we LOVE this trend of trends & suggested topics… and we may have something in store for you related to this concept… stay tuned!
