In an effort to improve audience and ads measurement, Facebook announced yesterday a significant metrics & reporting update, to offer “more clarity and confidence about the insights [they] provide.”
In a nutshell, here are the takeaways from this update:
- Expansion of third-party verification programs by third-party organizations, in partnership with Moat, IAS, comScore and Nielsen.
- Creation of a Measurement Council to address the growing need for measurement standards.
- Clarifications of metrics, through improved names, definitions, calculations and categorizations (learn more here).
- Corrections of metrics, through a dedicated blog.
This is definitely a step in the right direction for all of us Social Media Managers and Advertisers 😉
